What is love? Is love an emotion? Or is emotion a by-product of love? Do you have to get a feeling before loving or can you show love without that feeling? So if today you don’t feel loved….will you show love?

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

The above is the Bibles definition of Love

SO if love is these things…let’s analyse what love is…..

Love is patient- it waits to see u grow, change or progress- being aware of a person’s shortcomings and loving them anyway….

Love is KIND- the opposite of kindness is selfishness i.e. putting yourself first. To be kind is simply asking the question, “am I treating this person the way i would like to be treated?”

Love does NOT envy…..someone else’s victory does not mean YOUR DEFEAT………are you happy for someone, when someone else has what you have always wanted…..a job, a car, a partner……I call it hateraid….

A friendship or partner note…pay attention to people around you note what they say….are they never happy for others….chances are they won’t be happy for you when you succeed.

Love does not boast-translation; your self esteem should not be built up off the defeat and struggle of others…

Love is not proud-pride is one of the main reasons for divorce. Jesus said the only reason Moses allowed divorce was because of the pride of mankind. Translation….I am right and they are wrong and that’s final.

It wasn’t part of Gods perfect plan….see what Jesus says in Mark 1:1-12

Love is not rude –The power of the tongue can lift you up and it can also break you down

Love isn’t self-seeking- I want, I want, I want…..I don’t care what happens to others….a thief is self seeking, he or She believes their need is greater than that of everyone else’s.

Love is not easily angered- if there is no patience, a person who does not have real love will be angered from the smallest things.

Love does not keep a record of wrongs – like a child collecting penny’s! Do you remember when you did this and this and this to me….fake love keeps a record of EVERYTHING that you do so they can throw it back into another’s face.

Relating this to God, when you accept Jesus into your life… before God, you are a NEW CREATION. His blood has washed away ALL SIN. On judgement day there will be no record of wrongs against you…the slate is wiped clean.

It is a FREE GIFT called GRACE shown through JESUS CHRIST. We didn’t deserve it, but he did it and said “you are my child and are made NEW again- hence the term BORN AGAIN” …if you haven’t already asked God for forgiveness and allow Jesus to fill your life. Do it NOW…

Simply say….

Heavenly Father

I come to you in prayer asking for the forgiveness of my Sins.  I confess with my mouth and believe with my heart that Jesus is your Son, And that he died on the Cross at Calvary that I might be forgiven and have Eternal Life in the Kingdom of Heaven.  Father, I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and I ask you right now to come in to my life and be my personal Lord and Saviour. I repent of my Sins and will Worship you all the days of my Life!. Because your word is truth, I confess
with my mouth that I am Born Again and Cleansed by the Blood of Jesus!

REAL love keeps no record of wrongs…

Love does not rejoices in evil-so when others are in pain people without love have are in peace….”others failing does not mean your success” real love is honest and truthful

love protects- protecting someone does not always mean physically, to protect someone is to protect their feelings (if they get jealous easily real love will recognise this and work at any cost not to make them jealous- remember love is not selfish, I.e. so even if they have the issue and get jealous. Speak to them and help them through it….love places others first)

love trusts- once a thief, always a thief, once a liar always a liar, once a cheater always a cheater….Love holds steadfast and trusts again

Love hopes- love perseveres- finds ways to work out things, to understand, re-evaluates options, has faith and a picture of the future. Without a vision the people perish… if you have no vision of a better day with a person the relationship will end….whether family, friend, or partner

Love is a choice….if you choose to love…..u will love….

And what if u don’t feel loved…..go to the one who loves you with no bounds, your number one fan…..as you let Jesus into your life and real love enters your life….loving others becomes easy….

Why?

Romans 5:8…..God loved us whilst we were still sinners….in our worst state, in our most unbearable state, wrapped in sin….God said I will send my son. It please God to bruise his son for YOU and ME.

 10 But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him
      and cause him grief.
   Yet when his life is made an offering for sin,
      he will have many descendants.
   He will enjoy a long life,
      and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. Isaiah 53:10
